Male Vs. Female Sports

Men were much more likely to compete in athletics than females before the contemporary, more egalitarian era of sports started in the latter half of the 20th century. Women can do nearly anything that males do across the board in the 21st century, although in some sports females have better possibilities than others.

The Title IX Revolution

The condition of women’s sports in the United States altered dramatically as early as 1972, all thanks to the Title IX of the Education Amendments, which prohibits discrimination in public education and other programs receiving government support. The law helped increase women from 294,000 in 1971-72 to 3.2 million in 2012-13 in high school sports. Participation of children risen from 3.7 million to 4.5 million over the same period. Women’s involvement in NCAA sports increased to 200,000 in 2012-13 from 30,000 before Title IX. In 2012-13, the NCAA sports involvement of men was 265,000.

The Muscle Sports

Men continue to dominate most sports, where raw power is often of paramount importance. For instance, there are no women’s soccer or wrestling teams from the NCAA. Men’s football is a large company at the professional level, while women’s professional football leagues have seen little success. This is not surprising, as females lack enough testosterone to grow muscles as big as men. Men use their bigger muscles to punch boxing harder, hold hard holds in wrestling, and block 300-pound football linemen.

Level Playing Fields

In sports such as swimming and diving, basketball, track and field, soccer, tennis and golf, men and women’s competition is almost alike, with only a few variations in regulations. Accommodations are generally produced for females being lower and less muscular than males. For instance, males shoot a 16-pound shot in the track and field while females use an 8.8-pound shot. For each course, golf courses have several tees, and females typically play the centre or forward tees instead of the longer tees. The girls ‘ ball is 1 inch lower in circumference in high school basketball and 2 ounces heavier than the boys. Bodychecking is prohibited in the women’s match in college hockey, but not the men’s.

Male athletes vs female athletes

Based on alleged physiological inferiority, females have been artificially kept back in sports for many years. For example, women ran at the Olympics no more than 200 meters away from 1932 to 1956. At this age, females run the same events as males. This egalitarian spirit permits both men and women to enjoy the benefits of sports, including improved physical fitness, strength gains, weight loss, and a reduced risk of disease. Additionally, coed sports such as mixed doubles tennis or coed recreational leagues permit men and women to enjoy the social and fitness aspects of sports together.

How Did We Decide?

We used the proprietary formula of ESPN, which derives its ranking through Google Trend ratings, approval dollars and social media followings, to discover the world’s 10 most popular female athletes. You will acknowledge some names, others may be a little strange. Some sign multi-million dollar approval deals, others appear on the cover of the magazine. But one fact they all have in common is that they dominate their sport. You should also check out these inspirational Women Police Forces in World.
